Who we are

DEC provides an affordable alternative for outpatient procedures, away from the inpatient hospital setting.

DEC is a center interested in offering the most efficient and high-quality gastrointestinal care. Complete patient satisfaction is also our goal. Our professional staff is committed to providing efficient, high-quality care.

We have prepared important information to guide you through the process of registration, your procedure, and your financial information and responsibilities. You will find it in Patient Resources and Billing & Insurance.

Our physicians

Our physician practices are located at two major centers of medical care excellence, Baylor University Medical Center and Presbyterian Hospital. Our intention is to extend that philosophy of care to a friendly, affordable, non-threatening, and comfortable outpatient environment. The common denominator of our practice is excellence, professionalism, compassion, and efficient medical and surgical care.

Meet our physicians, including a note on which physicians hold an ownership interest in the center.

Your visit, step by step

From the lobby to discharge, here is how your time at the center flows. Most patients are with us for approximately three hours.

  1. Registration

You arrive one hour before your procedure, register, and complete two information forms.

  2. Pre-Op

Our nursing staff escorts you to the pre-op area. Your history is reviewed, a pre-sedation assessment takes place, and an IV is started.

  3. Procedure

Monitors are placed and sedation is given. Most procedures are well tolerated.

  4. Recovery

You wake in the post-anesthesia recovery unit. Your physician speaks with you about the findings.

  5. Discharge

You receive written discharge instructions and go home with the responsible adult of your choice.
